Batavia insists on using only Arabica varieties from above 900 meters above sea level, and selects coffee beans from high-quality producing areas in central and eastern Java Island. All raw beans are hand-picked and graded, and only high-density, defect-free mature beans are retained, laying a solid foundation for subsequent roasting.

Light Roast
Light roasting can maximize the natural aroma of the coffee beans themselves, presenting a light and clean taste style. Although it still has the unique bitterness of Java coffee, the overall performance is lighter and purer, and the aroma is more woody and plant-based. It does not have fruit acid and is not irritating to drink. It is suitable for consumers who prefer a mild taste, especially suitable for slow extraction methods such as hand-brew and filtration, which can bring out subtle changes in aroma.
Dark Roast
If you prefer a strong, powerful, caramel-like coffee taste, Batavia’s dark roasted Java coffee will be the best choice. Deep roasting fully releases the oil in the coffee beans, making the bitterness deeper and more concentrated, while bringing out the rich sweetness and mellowness like chocolate syrup, which is extremely smooth, feels thick in the mouth, and has a long-lasting and warm finish. It is especially suitable for extraction by espresso, Americano, French press, etc.
